Private Equity Desk

MO Capital has recently set up a Private Equity Desk which offers, as a part of its Capital Market services, Private Equity as a new service specially to local, large and medium size companies looking to raise equity / quasi-equity from financial investors locally, regionally and internationally.

Private equity services have been gathering momentum in Rwanda as the Government encourages local businesses to boost local production and services to manage macroeconomic indicators.

What is Private Equity? – These are investments, amongst others, in private companies / businesses where private investors believe high future growth potential exists. These private investors bring in additional capital and expertise to help them grow. Private investors have the choice either to stay or exit by selling their private stakes to existing or new investors.

CDH has been involved in several significant private deals.

Our approach is to build a platform to allow large and medium size private entities to interact with potential private investors with CDH as intermediary. We offer investment banking and financial advisory services to these private entities for them to access additional funds under different conditions.

We leverage our local experience and local, regional and international private equity investors' network with our regional partners to provide tailor made solutions to clients.

Frequently asked questions

What you need to know about MO capital

A capital market is a financial marketplace where long-term debt or equity-backed securities are bought and sold. This market facilitates the raising of capital for companies, governments, and other entities by allowing them to issue stocks and bonds. It plays a crucial role in the economy by channeling funds from savers to entities that need capital for growth and development.

Securities are financial instruments that represent ownership (stocks), a creditor relationship with a governmental body or a corporation (bonds), or rights to ownership (derivatives). They are used by companies and governments to raise capital and can be traded in the financial markets.

Bonds are a type of security that represents a loan made by an investor to a borrower (typically corporate or governmental). When you purchase a bond, you are lending money to the issuer in exchange for periodic interest payments and the return of the bond’s face value when it matures. Bonds are used by organizations to finance projects and operations.

A broker is a professional or firm that acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of securities. Brokers facilitate transactions in financial markets and may provide advisory services to their clients. They earn commissions or fees for their services and are regulated by financial authorities to ensure fair and transparent market practices.
